Research in Earth Sciences

The Earth Sciences department at Dalhousie maintains active research programmes, well-integrated into our undergraduate and graduate education programmes. Research is divided into a number of broad categories: Crustal Dynamics and Geochemistry; Geochronology and Thermochronology; Surface, Marine and Environmental Processes; and Petroleum and Economic Geology; . Several overlapping subgroups exist within each of these. In addition, the department is affiliated with several separate Research Institutes at Dalhousie and in Halifax.
